Have Corkscrew, Will Travel – First Giveway!

While I was on vacation, I realized that I needed to share with you something that I do when I travel:

I keep something blue in my luggage… Can you see it?

It’s a corkscrew!

This corkscrew stays in that pocket in my suitcase. I do not remove it upon return from vacation. Why? I never know when I’ll need a corkscrew on vacation! This way, I don’t ever have to remember to pack it. A little tip from me to you.

Of course, this is in my suitcase that I check when I’m flying. You don’t want to carry a corkscrew in your carry-on bag. It will most likely be confiscated at security.

Really, you never know where you’ll end up without a corkscrew:

  • At a friend’s or family member’s house. Seriously, some people don’t own them.
  • Camping.
  • At a hotel.

For this reason, I’ve had Wine Tasting guests state that they actually keep a spare corkscrew in their purse or glove compartment. Brilliant!

The lesson here is:

You can never have too many corkscrews.

So today I’m doing my first ever giveaway!

Two lucky people will win this Traveling Vineyard Wine Accessory Package:

This package has everything for the wine lover:

  • Double hinged corkscrew

  1. Please note that if this is your first comment on this blog, your comment will require approval before you will see it posted! I usually do this the same day. 😉 Good luck! Cheers~

  2. Hear hear! I keep one in my toiletry bag! 🙂 And in my Glove compartment. And in the Kitchen. And in my suitcase… Hmm… Too many?

I’ve just been too many places where I needed one and didn’t have it! That includes hotels, parents, camping….

Recently my parents were visiting and didn’t have a corkscrew…. I ended up using a long screw and pair of pliers to get the cork out!

  3. Hi Carrie!

So many times I’ve been camping, on a road trip, in.a hotel….no.corkscrew for an impromptu glass of wine! So now I have one in my camping gear and its on my packing list for all vacations. I do not have one I keep in a suitcase though, it would be awesome to have!

  4. I don’t currently own a corkscrew (shocking, I know!), and I am currently without one while I have an amazing bottle of white waiting to be opened!
The last bbq we had, my husband used a screw driver to get the cork out of a wine bottle.
This giveaway has come at the perfect time!

  5. Having been in a sorority and at one too many fraternity formals where We Worked With What We Had, I’m guilty in the pushing of more than one cork into a bottle of wine because we were sans-opener and knew that the bottle would be gone within the hour anyway. The shame and horror, I know.
