We’ve been back from our annual trip to visit Rob’s parents in Michigan for ten days now. I’m still trying to catch up. That explains my absence. But we enjoyed our trip to the fullest. I just love summer there! This time, I basked in the fact it made me feel like a kid again.
How, you ask? Well…
We rode these bikes…
…letting the wind rip through our hair when we coasted downhill. Weeeee!!!!! {Uphill was another story.}
We went to the Corner House and ate ice cream… lots of it!
~
We got these pooches ready for the water in their new life jackets:

Sophie was wondering why she had to wear one since she hadn’t the last eight years. But it was Shamrock’s first time at the lake. I think he was ready for new adventures! {Note: Benny is still around. He was having trouble walking this trip and I believe his days swimming in the lake are coming to an end.}
~
We took them out on the paddle boat.
The handles on the life jacket are there in case they fall in the water, we can pluck them out… which they inevitably did.

And we went swimming…
…both with and without the dogs in this beautiful lake:
Yeah. Biking, Ice Cream and Swimming are stuff summers are made of for a kid. I got to feel like one again.
Please stay with me as I include Restaurant Impressions on this blog from these past travels over the next couple weeks. If you don’t live in Michigan or don’t plan on going anytime soon, you just may be inspired to do or make something! Or you just might find our experiences funny.
For instance, I found this ad in the local paper funny:
This could be mistaken as an ad for Single Butchers, no?! Tee hee.
What makes you feel like a kid again?
Cheers~
Carrie
