Sophie and Shamrock have a little visitor this weekend! It’s Sophie’s old friend Lenny…

Lenny!

Back when Lenny had poofier fur, Rob used to think he looked like Fozzie Bear and would always look at him and say, “Wocka, wocka, wocka!” Lenny must have been recently groomed because his coat is short and neat, unlike our Shaggy Sophie and Patchwork Shamrock:

At this point, Sophie is reminding me of the cartoon sheepdog that used to punch-in to work. Remember that one?

In any case, Fozzie Bear still fits Lenny because of his happy-go-lucky personality and his open mouth that looks like he’s smiling.

He’s also a fetch fanatic. There is no on-off switch! It’s so funny that when he brings a toy, he drops it, wags his tail with his mouth open, but when you turn to look at him, he closes his mouth in anticipation that you are going to throw the toy.

He’ll do this for hours. Sometimes Sham will intercept his fetches, but Sham just doesn’t last as long as Lenny. It’s been a while since we’ve watched him, so we’re happy to have him visit and to meet Sham for the first time. They’ve been chasing each other in the backyard in the fresh snow.

What’s funny is that we used to watch another dog named Lennie (but female), who we nicknamed “Ralph” for her dark curly fur like the dog Ralph on the Muppets! I guess that is what happens when you are named Lenny(ie).
