Birchbox – November 2012

Every month when I receive my Birchbox, I let out a little squeal of delight. Don’t ask me why. Maybe it’s because the box feels like a beautiful gift that I can unwrap. {They are always packaged and arranged so nicely!} I love discovering what the theme is and sampling the wonderful goodies inside. And for some reason, I feel pampered.

This month’s theme was appropriate:

And here is what I found inside:

A Holiday Gift Guide, a discount voucher for CHROMATICgallerie.com, Oscar Biandi Pronto Texture & Volume Spray, Atelier Cologne envelope, stilia all over shimmer liquid luminizer, GIVE envelope

The Gift Guide has some great unique Birchbox ideas for those hard-to-buy for people on your Holiday list. This includes a three, six or twelve-month subscription to Birchbox! I was intrigued by the twelve-month Deluxe subscription. Hmm… I just may have to look into that.

And did you know that there is now a Birchbox for MEN?!

I was a little confused what the stilia all over shimmer liquid luminizer was and how to use it. Then I found this on the Birchbox website:

A mix of antioxidants and grapeseed oil conditions dry skin, while soft light-reflecting pigments mask fine lines and imperfections. Using the brush applicator, dab a small amount on your eyelids, cheeks, and collarbones for a flirty glow, or mix it with your foundation for a subtle all-over sheen.

Looks like I’ll be glowing this holiday season!

And in the envelopes…

Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolue with decorative postcard

The Rose Anonyme aroma isn’t exactly my style. It’s described as sophisticated, which I think is appropriate; but reminds me more of what a Woman of a Certain Age would wear. And I don’t think of myself as That Certain Age.

The Give Envelope:

Miracle Skin Transformer – Vanish Instant Imperfection Corrector, Chuao Chocolatier Chocolate-Covered Potato Chip

I’ve been in search for an age spot corrector/minimizer, but I’m not sure the one by Miracle Skin Transformer is as “Instant” as it claims. Of course, I popped the chocolate-covered potato chip in my mouth almost instantly. You couldn’t really tell that it was a potato chip. You can taste the saltiness, but the texture is more like a Crunch Bar. 60 calories for that little baby. I think they would make fun stocking stuffers, though!

I also like the Give envelope’s instructions. You receive, now it’s your turn to give. Pass it on. And on. And on.

I have yet to try out the volume spray and the luminizer; but I’m looking forward to doing so. I like that I received a variety this month – no two products from the same category. Still, all of these anti-aging samples I’ve been receiving lately is making me feel a little bit older than I see myself! 😉

Birchbox is only $10 per month with free shipping. I know that I’ll be sticking with it for a long time, so I’m really curious about that deluxe subscription.

What are your favorite stocking stuffers?
